As a part of the A.R.E. RETAIL DESIGN COLLECTIVE, end-to-end retail design solution provider ALU transformed their SoHo showroom into a multi-sensory experience. The show titled “MADHATTAN” as a nod to Alice in Wonderland, was conceptualized by renowned design firm STEPHANIEGOTO. The fantastical experience immersed visitors in a multi-sensory mix of design, sound, scent, and visual arts. http://vimeo.com/81587972 MADHATTAN debuted on December 4, 2013 with a party inviting visitors to “…take a proverbial bite and enter the rabbit hole.” The show engaged guests in themed settings titled “Down the Rabbit Hole”, “The Forest”, “The Tea Party”, and “Deck of Cards”. In three “Looking Glass” areas, visitors stepped onto sonic platforms inside of booths to face interactive video screens. Each interactive video screen, was conceptualized by ACTIVAIRE with +SCALE, featuring screens by NEC. Music was styled by ACTIVAIRE, and LEAPSONIC tehnology transformed the platforms into speakers which visitors could stand on. Additionally, MADHATTAN showcased Air Sculpture by famed perfumer CHRISTOPHE LAUDAMIEL of DREAMAIR and PROLITEC, and lighting design by REVEAL DESIGN GROUP. Technical support partners for the show included A.C. LIGHTING INC and COLOR EDGE.
SEASICK MAMA performed live on opening night, followed by DJ sets from TODD SINES of +SCALE and ACTIVAIRE. Partygoers sipped CA’ DEL BOSCO while CHEF BRYCE SHUMAN and GM EAMON ROCKEY from BETONY hosted the culinary experience.
