The secret sauce · Human-led curation

Music discovery happens here. Playlists you will want to take home.

Enterprise background music requires a definitive sonic strategy, not predictable, automated algorithms. Our collective of brand designers, working DJs, and lifelong record collectors guides every Curator Now scene through a rigorous, proprietary curation framework.

Built like a brand design system rather than generic playlist generation, every single track must earn its slot to protect your business’s audio identity, and introduce your guests to their next favorite song.

Personal playlists
don't scale.
Generic ones
fall flat.

A personal playlist is a micro-gesture, built for a single listener or a momentary mood. Enterprise audio operates on a completely different axis. A business, by its very nature, must captivate an incredibly broad, fluid audience across multiple locations, distinct regional footprints, and shifting schedules.

We don’t just aggregate tracks; we strategically map your entire audio infrastructure to align diverse demographics, fluctuating foot traffic patterns, and localized dayparts into one cohesive, centrally controlled brand ecosystem. This isn’t basic music utility, it’s enterprise sound architecture built for the long game.

Three steps.
One endless loop.
One brand at a time.

What happens behind the scenes to engineer your sonic brand, and the continuous optimization that keeps it alive long after everyone else walks away.

01The Brand Music Position

Before a single track plays, we step into your brand space to map your sonic identity. We isolate your audience demographics, outline your acoustic boundaries, and design a bulletproof audio architecture tailored to your business goals. No generic algorithms, no shortcuts. Just a distinct, fully licensed soundtrack engineered exclusively for your brand.

02The Signal

The program goes live across your entire enterprise footprint instantly. Because Curator Now is completely hardware-agnostic, your custom audio engine pipes natively into Sonos, Q-SYS, Marshall, or our proprietary Epicentre media players. Plug in, turn up, and lock it down directly from the dashboard so on-site staff can’t hijack the playlist.

03The Live Loop

Great music programs shouldn’t decay over time. Where other background music companies stop, our continuous loop begins. We run systematic updates and strategic vibe checks to eliminate staff acoustic fatigue, keeping your atmosphere fresh, adaptive, and effortlessly scalable forever.

The production log

Every track earns its slot.
Here's the receipt.

This is what the process looks like on an ordinary Tuesday, auditions, rejections, refinement passes, and the occasional hard no. No shortcut writes a single line of it.

Why it works

Taste is a leading indicator. Data is a lagging one.

Data can tell you what already happened. It can't tell you what a room is about to feel like, or why a track that tested badly everywhere else is exactly right for your lobby at 6pm. That judgment comes from people who've spent decades in rooms like yours, not from a model trained on someone else's.

Judgment over metrics
A track that fits your brand often has no engagement signal to point to yet.
Working DJs, not desk curators
Every curator plays out weekly, in rooms like the ones they program.
Built from a brief, not a vibe board
Every scene traces back to a signed-off brand definition.
Maintained, not shipped once
Monthly, quarterly, and annual passes keep the sound current.
The discovery surface

Where the music
actually comes from.

We don't have a music source. We have a discovery surface, curators listening across clubs, runways, record shops, radio, basements, group chats, late-night DJ Slacks, and the corners of the internet a database can't reach.

We hear sound before it charts. Track micro-genres before they get a name. We're in the rooms where things break.

02
Cultural context

Music doesn't move in isolation. We watch how it travels, through fashion, design, neighborhoods, group chats, and what's actually landing vs. just being promoted.

The opposite of a “retail playlist.”

yes 🙌 same lineage. add A.S.O., Erika de Casier, Headache to the brief.
headache is amazing but heavy, fashion-forward retail only. would land in an edgier concept space, not the average cafe floor.

Adeshwatch the country-pop bias, too narrow on its own.
Rubinagree. blend in '90s alt + indie folk for the families. Wilco DNA, not Florida Georgia Line.

Our curators don't listen to music for a living. They live music for a living. That difference shows up in every session.

Questions people ask.

Who actually picks the music?+

Real people. Full-time curators with backgrounds in design, A&R, music journalism, and label work. Most DJ weekly. All have been collecting records for a decade or more. None of them are an algorithm.

How long does discovery take?+

Two weeks for a single-location program, four to six for multi-zone or multi-region. Discovery includes a brand audit, operator interviews, on-site listening where possible, and a competitive sonic landscape review.

Can our team be involved in the process?+

Yes, heavily, in Discover and Define. We share mood maps, anchor artists, and avoid lists for sign-off before a single scene gets built. After Deliver, a Vibe Check loop runs every 90 days.

How is this different from a custom playlist?+

Three things: full commercial licensing a personal playlist doesn’t have, scenes built from a brand brief rather than a vibe, and ongoing refinement rather than a one-shot. A playlist ages out. A scene is maintained for the life of the brand.

How often is the program refreshed?+

A Refinements pass monthly rotates 10–15% of tracks based on listening data and feedback. An Updates pass quarterly handles seasonal shifts and new releases. A full Vibe Check runs annually.
